Split couplings are easy to install and de-install.
They clamp down on the shaft and also have a retainer bolt holding the

Remember that in reverse, the propellor pulls. It is
important that the drive train cannot be pulled apart. |

banks. If you double the size of your battery bank you more
than double the range of your boat. This is because
batteries are more efficient when using less current. High
current applications create heat in the entire system.

load on each battery bank, resulting in longer range. |

(tppl). With very little resistance, they charge very
rapidly and are best suited for uses that include a dc generator.
They require a charge of 7 amps per 100 amp hours capacity, preferrably

discharge, but are rated at 400 cycles at 80% d.o.d. |

I have two of these chargers aboard my boat. They are fully
electronic and not tranformer based technology. The charger balances
the bank by feeding the lowest battery more charge and bringing them to
absorption mode at the same time.
Even if you have another charging source, like solar, or an inverter charger
that is charging at 54 volts, your boat would benefit from having an occasional
charge with this charger to balance the batteries in your bank.
There is no better charger available for battery bank balancing.
Two chargers will work in parallel together for faster charging.
